Considerate Constructors Scheme
At OxBio Hub, we’re proud to be registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), a national initiative that promotes best practice across the construction industry. Our commitment goes beyond building exceptional spaces; it’s about ensuring our work has a positive and lasting impact on the people, communities, and environments around us.
Respect the Community
We actively engage with local communities to minimise disruption, maintain open communication and contribute positively to neighbourhood life. Our involvement ranges from partnering with organisations like Ace Training and supporting local groups such as Kidlinks, to sponsoring major regional events like the Cherwell Business Awards. We also host and collaborate on initiatives with the Oxford BioScience Network (OBN), UK Property Forum, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and OxProp NextGen, all part of our commitment to being a constructive and positive presence within the community.
Care for the Environment
Sustainability is at the heart of OxBio Hub. From the outset, the project has been designed to minimise environmental impact while maximising long-term efficiency and wellbeing. The full refurbishment will follow BREEAM best practices and target EPC A–B ratings, ensuring high standards of environmental performance. Features such as photovoltaic solar panels, electric vehicle charging points, energy-efficient lighting and ventilation systems, and landscaped green areas to enhance biodiversity all contribute to a more sustainable, future-focused development. By repurposing the existing structure of Building 2700, OxBio Hub also captures the embodied carbon of the original building — a key step towards reducing overall emissions and supporting Oxford’s net-zero ambitions.
Value our Workforce
Our people are at the heart of every project. In the construction industry, this includes not only our permanent staff but also contractors, suppliers and specialist teams who join at different stages to deliver various elements of the development. We prioritise health and safety above all, ensuring every individual on site is supported with the training, guidance and equipment they need to work safely and efficiently.
We also focus on fostering collaboration across diverse teams, recognising the importance of clear communication, mutual respect and shared goals in complex projects. Professional development, wellbeing and inclusion are central to our approach, helping everyone to work as a team, whether on-site or off-site to thrive and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects.
